Character Name: Shanoa
Fandom: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Character History: Shanoa is one of the female warriors of the Order of Ecclesia, a group that is said to be dedicated to finding a way to destroy Dracula for good. She was raised in the Order by Barlowe, along with her adopted brother, Albus. It is unknown whatever happened to her biological parents. What little is known of her childhood seems fairly normal, since she would play tag with Albus and then cry when she wasn't able to catch him.
As she got older, she started training in to become a warrior. As it turns out she had a unique ability to channel power through the glyphs on her back and shoulders. Because of this, she was chosen to become the vessel for Dominus, the ultimate Glyph that was designed to destroy Dracula. As she was about to absorb Dominus, Albus interrupted the ceremony and took the Glyph, saying he was supposed to be the one to have Dominus. Apparently, because of the disruption, Shanoa, lost her emotions and memories and thus had to go through a crash course on her training.
A few weeks go by and Shanoa goes out to get Albus and to retrieve Dominus, still with no memories but has regained some knowledge on how to use her glyphs. As she travels the country side, she discovered that Albus had imprisoned several villagers, and thus she frees them by using her glyphs.
During her travel though the country side, she runs into Albus twice. Each time he gave her a piece of Dominus. When she reports back to Barlowe about this, it is discovered that Dominus is really formed from Dracula's power. But Barlowe assures Shanoa that Dominus is the only way to defeat Dracula so she continues to search for Albus and the final piece.
Once she finds Albus again, he absorbs the glyph which surprises Shanoa since he was unable to absorb glyphs before. Once Albus absorbs the final piece of Dominus, he becomes possess by Dracula's power and attacks Shanoa. She ends up killing him and absorbs the final piece of Dominus. Once she did that, some of Albus's memories came to her, and she was able to communicate with his soul through Dominus. She found out the truth about the glyph. If someone uses Dominus it ends up killing them. Albus, knowing this the whole time, wanted to be the vessel for Dominus so that Shanoa would not have to sacrifice herself. But he was sent on a fool's errand by Barlowe so that the ceremony would take place without him around. So he ended up interrupting the ceremony to steal Dominus and thus save Shanoa. As it turned out, Shanoa losing her memories and her emotions were the results of partially absorbing Dominus at the beginning of the ceremony, and not Albus interrupting. Once she learned all of this, Albus mad her promise never to use Dominus.
Knowing the truth now, Shanoa goes back to the order to confront her master, Barlowe. As it turned out, Barlowe did not want to destroy Dracula, but to bring him back to the world and destroy mankind, and using Dominus was the to do just that. Shanoa, not wanting to die yet because she still has a lot of questions to be answered, fights her former master and defeats him. But Barlowe still manages to break the seal without Dominus, and thus Dracula's Castle rises.
Having nothing left, but her mission, Shanoa goes the castle to confront Dracula. In order for her to defeat the Demon Lord, she breaks her promise to Albus and uses Dominus. It works, and as she is dying, her memories and emotions start to come back and Albus speaks to her again. He tells her that Dominus only needs one soul, and that he would take her place if she only smiles for. She does, and her life is spared, allowing to escape the Castle. After this, all records of Ecclesia were destroyed.
Character Personality: Please be as detailed as possible. Minimum three paragraphs.
Powers and Abilities: Shanoa is a Glyph witch. The glyphs tattooed on her shoulders and back allow her channel power so that she can use magic, summon weapons and creatures, and to transform in to certain creatures. Of course, if order for her to do any of that, she has to absorbed the new glyphs from some monster or human conjured glyphs.
Samples
Network: Your network sample entry should be made as if your character were posting to a public network, such as Dreamwidth. It does not have to be their first post (ie, "OMG WHERE AM I?!"), but it does have to show that the character is perfectly aware of the fact that this is something that other people are likely to see. Please avoid excessive description in [action tags] here, as one would get in video posts - we're looking for your character's voice, the one they use for talking to others. Save the internal monologues for the third person sample.
Third Person:
Shanoa entered the village of Wygol, to check on the villagers she rescued and to stock up on supplies before she continues her search of Albus. As she made her way to Jacob's shop, Serge and his sister, Anna came running around the corner, laughing. Apparently they were playing some kind of game. Curious, she stopped and watched the two children play.
It didn't take long for them to spot her and they came running over to her. "Hi Shanoa!" Anna exclaimed as they got closer.
Shanoa nodded politely to them. "Hello. What were you two doing?"
"We were playing tag," Serge replied.
"Tag?" The word reminded her of the conversation she had with Albus before he gave her a piece of Dominus and than ran off. She wondered if what he had said was true, that they did play that game when we were children. It also made her wonder if he was just letting her think that she was winning in this chase he was leading her on.
"Yeah, tag," Anna said, interrupting her thoughts. "Haven't you played it before?"
Shanoa shrugged some. "I was told that I did, but I don't remember."
"You really don't remember anything, do you?"
Shanoa shook her head, her face keeping the ever present stoic expression.
Anna gave her a sad expression. "Doesn't it make you sad that you can't remember?"
Shanoa shrugged and answered the child's question honestly. "No. In fact, I don't feel anything."
Serge frowned, then it looked like he had gotten an idea. "How about you play with us? Then you'll have a new memory."
She shook her head again. "I don't have time for such games," she replied. "Besides, you can say I am already playing a version of it."
"Oh?" Serge asked. "With who?"
"The man you had imprisoned you, your sister, and your mother," Shanoa answered.
"Him? I don't see why everyone thinks he's bad."
For once Shanoa's expression changed from being stoic to a look of confusion. "How can you think that? He did trap you and several other villagers, after all."
"I was what he said," Serge replied with a smile. "He said I had to grow up strong so that I'll be able to protect my sister."
"He said that?"
"Yep! Because that's what brothers do, right?"
Not sure how she should reply, Shanoa simply nodded. "I must be going now," and she began to walk away from the siblings, a bit confused by what the young boy told her. Master Barlowe had led her to believe that Albus had gone insane and that he was no longer a good person. But from what Serge said, it did not sound like that was the whole story. Perhaps, she thought to herself as she entered the shop. I can get some answers from Albus himself, when I finally catch up to him...
